PATRICIA FERGUSON, PSY.D. - Freelance Writer and Editor

Dr. Ferguson has been working as a psychologist since 1986. She is also a freelance writer and editor.

She is Editor-in-Chief of Apollo's Lyre, an award winning online magazine for writers and editors of all genres, which she co-founded. She is also a book reviewer for Metapsychology Online, AbsoluteWrite and The Writer's Room Magazine.

Helped construct the new written test for Ethics and Law for new licensees in the state of California (2005)

Private Practice, specializing in all areas of psychology, working with families, children, couples, individuals of all ages. (1991-1998)

Regional Center for Developmentally Disabled, a center for people with certain disabilities. Job duties included diagnosing mental retardation and autism in 3-year-olds, and providing the nine-county area covered by the Center with options for treatment for those children with autism. (1993-1998)

Practicing psychologist, including two years specialization in family violence. (1989-1998)

Associate Clinical Professor of Family Practice at the University of California Davis (1994-1996)

Private practice in Ft. Lauderdale, FL (1987-1990)

Additional experience: worked at the Florida State Hospital with dual-diagnosis patients, including juvenile sex offenders, in a family clinic with both victims and offenders, and at community mental health centers in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale (1987-1990)
